Art in Motion

When is a painting finished?

“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium, and will be lost..”-Martha Graham
Long ago I quit using the word Done. Instead I choose to use the word Stop. I stop at an interesting place and let breathe…
Some of it is a dance, an unfinished dream, a process in which there is no end. Being a Yoga Therapist, much of my inspiration indeed comes from the practice of yoga, in particular the yama Aparigraha. Meaning “non-attachment.”
The magic is in the moment of creation itself and by the time you the viewer is witnessing it– the “it” has already happened. The painting itself is merely a mirror in which time stopped reflecting the connection with Source that already occurred.
I express emotional life through movement and bold unapologetic color in my work, often referencing the chakra spectrum and the magnetic vitality our souls radiate. An energy visionary and translator–
I am Art in Motion.
